MOTOR REPLACEMENT - 36” MODEL

WA R N I N G !
DISCONNECT UNIT FROM ELECTRICAL SOURCE BEFORE BEGINNING.
ELECTRICAL SHOCK RESULTING IN INJURY OR DEATH CAN OCCUR
WHEN WORKING IN A WET ENVIRONMENT.
PERFORM ALL MAINTENANCE WITH UNIT UNPLUGGED.
ONLY QUALIFIED AND TRAINED DISTRIBUTORS OR FACTORY PERSONNEL SHOULD PERFORM REPAIRS

PAD REMOVAL - Both pump and motor replacement are accomplished working from the pad side of the unit. Follow steps 1 through 4 on this page for both a pump replacement or a motor replacement.

BEFORE BEGINNING
Position unit with plenty of working room on all sides. Disconnect from electrical and water supplies. Protect against electrical shock.
STEP 1.
Pump replacement is performed from the pad side. To remove the cooling media pads, position unit turned with cooling media pads facing you. The pad flap is
attached at the top of the unit with three screws. Figure A. illustrates the center and the right-hand screw. Remove the three screws attaching the pad flap and set flap aside.
STEP 2.
Removal of all five pads is necessary. Remove the center pad first. Remove pads by grasping pad at the top and tilting out and away from unit.
STEP 3.
While tilting pad out,remove pad by lifting up and away from the unit. Remove all five pads in same manner. Set pads in a safe place to prevent damage while out
of the unit.
STEP 4.
Remove remaining pads in same manner removing pads from the center outward.
Unit with all cooling media pads removed will allow complete access to the inside of the unit housing and internal components

MOTOR REPLACEMENT
STEP 1.
Motor is located in left center of unit. Switch box is located in upper left.
Locate motor harness wire secured to fan bracket assembly using five plastic wire ties. Cut and remove plastic wire ties. DO NOT CUT ELECTRICAL WIRES.

STEP 2.
Remove switch box cover. Unplug motor harness wire connector. Push rubber grommet on motor wire harness through switch box opening and remove motor harness wire from switch box.

STEP 3.
On front of motor mount, remove belt pulley and four (4) lock nuts securing motor to mount. Remove motor by sliding straight back out of mounting holes.

STEP 4.
INSTALL NEW MOTOR BY REVERSING ABOVE PROCEDURES.
(1.) Install new motor into motor mount and install four (4) lock nuts to secure motor to mount.
(2.) Install motor pulley on motor shaft and align with fan blade hub pulley. Install fan belt on motor pulley and fan pulley.
(3.) Thread terminal end of motor wire through switch box wire opening and plug five-pin connector into switch connector.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that rubber grommet seal on harness is properly seated
to keep water out of control box.
(5.) Replace switch box cover.
(6.) Secure motor wire to fan bracket assembly using new wire ties.
(7.) Replace pads by installing from outside toward center replacing center pad last.
